Cigar Tasting in Review!

Well it was another beautiful Sunday afternoon in Perth and we were lucky enough to share it with a great group of people, all at the tiger to 'smoke a cigar!'

We matched the Cuban cigar with a single origin Cuban Altura coffee roasted by Michael Grendel. Josh Devlin from Devlin cigars talked us through the origin of the cigar, it's very distinctive 'twist', cutting, lighting with butane and of course smoking.

This was a beautiful cigar, further enhanced by the great Pedro Ximenez sherry from Spain, Cardenal Cisneros. This sherry has a lush mouth feel with an obvious suggestion of raisins and tea on the palate.

The beauty of smoking cigars as with coffee and wine, is that ultimately, you may like it and you may not...it's a personal thing. With such great company and a beautiful blue sky, it all tasted a treat!

There will definitely be more cigar tastings. Make sure you're free next time!

Cigar Tasting

Sunday, 9th September at 2pm sharp.

This will be our second cigar tasting for the year. We are very lucky that the dashing Josh Devlin of Devlin Cigars is a fan of the tiger and it was over the coffee machine that this idea was hatched!

So we sit outside in our beautiful lane, drink a Single Origin Coffee carefully selected to match the mystery cigar we are given. Follow the score card, learn a bit about cigars, lighting them etc all the while drinking a glass of sticky or something!

Luckliy, we will be serving Cuban Altura coffee roasted by home-roaster Michael Grendel. He will also be there on the day, so you can give him your feedback on the roast! For a great read check  Michael's blog at http://www.cafe/
